Our Residency
The Augmenters Artist Residency is located in Riogordo, a traditional Andalusian village in southern Spain, approximately thirty-five minutes from Málaga and the international airport. The residency operates in a restored village house of approximately one hundred and ninety-five square metres, situated on Plaza de la Constitución, at the centre of the town.

The residency functions as a multi-purpose cultural space, combining accommodation, working facilities, and shared areas for artistic, educational, and community-based activities. The house is used for artist residencies, workshops, training activities, exhibitions, and small public events, depending on the project framework.

The residency provides shared accommodation with sleeping capacity for up to eight participants, four bedrooms, two kitchens, and two bathroom facilities, as well as shared living and working areas suitable for both group work and individual practice.

Residency activities are designed to support learning, artistic production, collaboration, and intercultural exchange. Programmes may include workshops, exhibitions, research-based work, community engagement, or structured learning sessions, depending on the objectives of each project.

Riogordo offers a strong local cultural identity and access to surrounding natural landscapes, creating a balanced environment for focused work and cultural exchange.

The residency supports interaction with the local community while allowing space for reflection and creative development.

The Augmenters Artist Residency is used within international cultural and educational projects, including Erasmus+ mobility and cooperation activities, as well as other European and locally supported cultural initiatives.
